Sparks of the Revolution

One night I was walking to the subway with a friend, when someone handed me a bumper sticker that read,"Stop bitching, start a revolution!". To this day I think it is one of the most profound statements one could make. And so I decided to do just that. This blog is about what happens when one person, human being, spirit, soul decides to take action in whatever way is best and start their own personal revolution.

Many of us have our own opinions on what we feel is right or wrong in the world. I certainly could rant and rave about a multitude of things. But, when does the ranting stop and action begin? Right here and right now. My life is filled with the everyday tasks we all face: work, family, education, dreams, nightmares, hope, and reality. I come home and watch the news every evening looking for some forward-thinking and progressive spirits who are taking charge.....always finding very, very few. Dr. Cornel West says we must stop depending on others to lead the way. I've decided to take up my own banner and lead my own revolution. I can't keep expecting someone else to do the work. In my opinion, those who have been in a position of 'leadership' have been there too long and have become complacent.

Who is willing to become a part of the evolution they want to occur? Who is willing to take charge of their community, neighborhood, nation? This blog is not about convincing you to believe as I believe. It's about getting you to think and act for yourself. Respecting every soul's right to live, think, and conceive.
